20 DIFFERENT WAYS TO DRESS YOUR HOT DOG....
JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER GRILLING TIME....The next time you grill, make sure you bring a few extra ingredients to surprise your guest!
Even though we try to avoid processed meats whenever possible, when you are LIVINGBUSY, there will be days where it's simply a choice between fast food, microwaved food, or something quick that you can just grab from the fridge....hot dog is a great choice, provided you choose the right brand.
There are many hot dog brand out there, many boasting "nitrate free", "nitrite-free", "all-natural", "low-sodium", etc.... I scoured the internet, shopped at many different supermarkets....and there is only ONE brand of HOT DOG, that wins the golden crown without a doubt in my mind: APPLEGATE'S ORGANIC UNCURED BEEF HOT DOG
Hot dogs has a bad rep, but when you choose the right product, it doesn't have to be all that evil. This brand is made from cows that are grass-fed, with no antibiotics, humanely raised, and the list of ingredients contains no chemicals that we cannot pronounce: Organic Grass-Fed Beef, Water. Contains Less Than 2% Of The Following: Sea Salt, Organic Spices, Organic Dehydrated Garlic, Organic Dehydrated Onion, Organic Paprika, Celery Powder.

1. Bacon-Wrapped Sonoran Wrap: Wrap the hot dog in bacon, top with some avocado pico de gallo, grill, serve, eat! This Pico de Gallo is made with all fresh ingredients such as raw red onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and avocado. Drizzle some mayonnaise on top (yes, you can eat hot dogs with mayonnaise too, with the right toppings this can taste wonderful)!
2. The Chicago Dog: if possible, use poppy seed hot dog buns, top with ripe tomatoes, yellow mustard, chopped white onion, dill pickles, sport peppers, and celery salt. WHATEVER YOU DO, don't add Ketchup!
3. The Atlanta Dog: firm peaches peeled and chopped, pickled jalapenos, finely chopped Vidalia onion, celery seed, salt

4. Chili Cheese Dog- A.K.A Coney Dog…Covered in beanless chili, mustard, and chopped onions, with Cheddar cheese sprinkled on top while the dog is still hot. Though more astetic to have the cheese on top, i'd put it at the bottom on a grilled bun and dog on top.
5. Pulled Pork Dog- A hefty mound of BBQ pulled pork on top of the top, with an equally delicious mound of coleslaw on top of that. HUNGRY MAN? SATISFIED MAN!
6. BLT Dog- grill your hot dog up while its wrapped in bacon, then top with mayo, lettuce and tomato. Oh my yum!
7. Salsa Dog- Topped with fresh salsa, and a sprinkle of queso fresco and cilantro
8. Vietnamese Dog- if you love Vietnamese Sandwiches, you'll love this Vietnamese-inspired toppings for this dog: spicy mayo, sliced cucumber, shredded carrot, and fresh mint leaves (optional)

9. The Sonoran: top your dog with avocado slices, mayo, chopped tomatoes, crispy bacon, chopped onion, and canned pinto beans. high in omega0-3's from the avocado, lycopene from the tomatoes, protein from the bacon and fiber from pinto beans....this dog simply has it all
10. The Olympian: spinach sauteed with choped garlic in olive oil, a brushing of Greek Yogurt and a squeeze of lemon. Who says you can't put dessert (or breakfast, depending on how you see it) on a dog?

11. The Vegan Dog: to make it entirely vegan, use a vegan hot dog, such as a Soy Dog. Top with 1 tbsp Arugula pesto, 1 tbsp vegan mayonnaise, 2 tomato wedges, 1 pinch alfalfa sprouts, 1 tbsp mushroom slices, and 3 cucumber slices
12. The Ecuadorian Street Dog: 2 tbsp Salsa Verde, 2 tbsp spicy aji sauce (or try spicy Sriracha Sauce), then top with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and chopped cilantro

13. The Maxim Hot Dog: the true hungry man's hotdog: combine finely chopped onion, chopped cabbage, chopped red pepper, crispy bacon bits, and and crushed jalapeno potato chips, drizzled with ketchup, spicy brown mustard, mayonnaise, and lime juice
14. Chilean-Style Hot Dogs with Avocado Chili Relish to make the relish: combine olive oil, cilantro, jalepanos, shallots and some lime juice, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then mix in tomatoes and avocadoes. Scoop and top on hot dog

15. Seattle Dog: Easy hot dog from Rachel Ray: top your favorite dog with cream cheese, then top with grilled onions and sliced jalapenos
16. The Pesto Dog : Craving a little Italian flavor on your dog? spread your dog with a blend of mayo and pesto. Top with fresh basil, chopped tomatoes, and grated parmesan. (not in picture)
17. The Deli Dog : Top your favorite dog with egg salad, a few dollops of pickle relish and freshly cracked pepper

18. The Colombian Dog: top your favorite dog with coleslaw, pineapple sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and crushed potato chips
19. The Reuben Dog chopped onion, sauerkraut, diced grape tomatoes, thousand island dressing, shredded swiss cheese, kosher kill pickle cut in half, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
20. Giada Dog: instead of the traditional hot dog bun, this recipe calls for a toasted baguette. Top your grilled dog with sauteed peppers, onions, and melted mozzarella cheese.
